Vortrag Me and my myopia – Childhood myopia and management strategies
Anlässlich des 64. Kongresses der Portugiesischen Gesellschaft für Augenheilkunde hielt Dr. Hakan Kaymak am 9. Dezember 2021 als geladener Gastredner auf dem Symposium zum Thema „Myopie, die stille Pandemie des 21. Jahrhunderts” einen Vortrag über Risiken und Therapien von Myopie bei Kindern.
In diesem Vortrag mit dem Titel „Me and my myopia“ erläutert Dr. Hakan Kaymak den aktuellen Stand der Wissenschaft zum Thema Kurzsichtigkeit bei Kindern. Er präsentiert die Möglichkeiten das Fortschreiten der Myopie zu messen und stellt die verschiedenen Behandlungsoptionen dar, die das Längenwachstum des Augapfels aufhalten können. Me and my Myopia
On the occasion of the 64th Congress of the Portuguese Society of Ophthalmology, Dr. Hakan Kaymak presented on December 9, 2021, as an invited speaker at the symposium on "Myopia, the silent pandemic of the 21st century" about risks and therapies of myopia in children.
Short sightedness among children is worldwide on the rise. Dr. Hakan Kaymak, ophthalmologist in Düsseldorf, is one of the leading researchers in the field. In this lecture he presents the current evidence on the risks and the control of myopia progression. He also evaluates the effectiveness of different treatment options from pharmacological treatments with atropine drops to peripheral defocusing spectacle lenses and ortho-k-lenses.
